Chinese designers hit New York Fashion Week

As more and more Chinese models establish themselves at fashion weeks in New York, Chinese designers are trying to do the same. This year, a delegation of 15 Shenzhen-based designers have brought their fashion creations to New York.
The 15 designers from three fashion brands are displaying their Spring collections at the Lincoln Center.
Shenzhen brand Ellassay opened the show with a fashionable mix of black, white and prints, followed by dresses from Lizzy.
Designer Xia Haiping's collection comprises a combination of traditional Chinese patterns with modern fabrics.
Another Shenzhen-based designer, Wang Tao, launched her first self-titled collection, which merges Asian culture with European influences.
"Fashion Shenzhen", sponsored by the Shenzhen Garment Industry Association and the Shenzhen Economy, Trade and Information Committee, has taken the city'sfashion corps to New York for the first time.
"We're excited to show Chinese designs here in New York and learn from the best designers from around the world. And I know that western designers also want to expand their brands to China, so it's a two-way street," said Shen Yongfang, president of Shenzhen Garment Industry Association.
In recent years, more and more Chinese designers have brought their fashion creations to New York. And their creative designs have impressed many professionals.
Shenzhen is considered China's hub for innovative designs. And participating in fashion events such as New York Fashion Week has opened the doors for communication between local and international designers.
